Excellent movie. The reason I give it a small decrease in stars is because for a minute it was leading me down a 'Pocahontas' mixed with 'Fern Gully' feel...but it left that senario and created great character development, story line, and action while keeping the content suitable for all.

17 Again

5 out of 5.

Believable. Great story.

This movie is funny in many different subtle ways. The casting decisions were excellent. It makes you feel bad for the guy, wish you had your own second chance, and be proud of something all at the same time.

District 9

Excellent moviemaking. Great computer graphics work. Good storyline.

From the beginning of the movie it didn’t look like it was going to turn out well. It is in the ‘handheld camera’ perspective for the most part, the accents are difficult to understand, and the story moves slowly. But as things progress you begin to acclimate to the dialogue and the ending is really cool. The end of the movie is worth watching the first 5/8ths of it. Possibility for a sequel…? I think they could put a good spin on the cliffhangers they left.

What can I say…Wayans, Wayans, Wayans! They’re funny but the quality of the moviemaking is not always the best. They have gross and off-beat humor if you like that kind of thing (which I do). That said I can still give it no more than a 3 as a critique.

G.I. Joe

This movie was awesome! From the intro credits to the end credits it was just great. I really enjoyed how they showed back stories for not only the heroes but the villans as well. It seemed like the movie was so much longer than it really was because they jam packed the movie full of action and storyline. It just didn’t seem like you could put that much good story into just shy of 2 hours.

I recommend this movie to everyone!

Land of the Lost

This movie was hilarious. I laughed throughout the whole movie. I don’t understand why all the critics gave it bad reviews…keeping in mind 2 things: 1. When you watch a Will Ferrell movie you can expect any or all of the following: His chest, Him kissing a boy, or him doing very gross things (in a funny manner)…and 2. The old version of the show was also so stupid it was hilarious.

My favorite character was the T-Rex. I recommend this movie to kids who are not quite old enough to understand some adult humor…and adults who like that kind of humor.

The Haunting in Connecticut

5 out of 5.

This was a really good movie if you like suspense, horror, and ‘jumps’. The movie was written and directed well. I almost needed to watch some ‘Shark Week’ to be able to go to sleep after.

Harry Potter: and the Half-Blood Prince

4.5 out of 5.

This is a great movie…and as part of a series it fits perfectly. Although it did lack a little as far as plot goes. It had action, drama, and humor. The actors for Draco and Ginny fell short in their performances to me…they just don’t really show a whole lot of emotion. Especially when they’re beside Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) and Emma Watson (Hermione)

For those who have not read the book:

It is next in the series. There is a lot of foreshadowing and leading up to the events of the next movie so where there is some action…there is also a few slightly boring ‘documentary’ moments. You will also be wondering where some plot choices they decided to include come from. I mean…BAM Ginny! What?

The ending was also a little weirdly directed because through the whole movie they made Harry very impulsive (like at the Burrow) and towards the end there is no indication that he is frozen by Dumbledore…but just watching and not being impulsive like he had been the whole rest of the movie. A little confusing and disappointing.

For those who have read the book:

As a lot of movies based on books go, it is basically a refresher of the events of the book…minus some cool parts I personally would’ve liked to see included. There is so many things they were trying to cover it seemed to jump around a lot and they focused on ‘love triangles’ too much.

I definately recommend this movie to anyone who has seen the other movies and enjoys the story. I think it was one of the most humorous in the series but not cheesy. Even with its shortcomings it was great!

Up

4 out of 5.

This movie had a lot more story than I thought it would from the commercials. For an animated pic it had a lot of emotion and humor…and brought up things that you had already forgotten about like 5 or 10 minutes ago to pull at your heartstrings.

I recommend watching it and possibly buying it for you kids.

The Musketeer

3.5 out of 5.

I know it’s an older movie but I just saw it for the first time the other day. I liked that the storyline was different from what I’m used to and still followed along the same idea. The fighting style was good. The love part was a little boring.

I recommend this movie to those who like classics with a little twist.

Madea Goes to Jail

2 out of 5.

This movie had to plotlines going on. There was a serious line and a comedy line. The comedy line was just that…funny. The serious line was very predictable. As soon as there was something you knew was going to be a ‘big decision’ later, you knew what decision they were going to make.

So I would recommend watching this movie just once if you like raunchy humor and think resisting arrest is funny…and try not to pay more than a couple of buck to do it.

The Proposal

4 out of 5.

This movie used a mix of awkwardness and comedy to keep me interested and keep watching. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were excellent choices for lead roles. Romantic comedies are not my favorite things…but as far as they go, this was a good one.

I recommend this movie to females…and guys if they are with a spouse or girlfriend…but never alone.

Bolt

5 out of 5.

One of the best children’s type movies I’ve seen recently. There was a great plotline, comedy, and mix of action. We follow this dog on a journey home and share in his revelations and making friends. I have nothing bad to say about the movie.

I laughed out loud through practically the entire film. I recommend this movie to anyone, young or old.

This movie was good. It had a great plot, lots of twists, and keeps you interested. I was pulled into the main character’s feelings and weaknesses. It did get a little boring a couple of times but not lasting for long.

I definately recommend this for those of you who like casinos, gamling, and keeping up with plot twists and surprises.

Casino Royale

3 out of 5.

The movie had a good plot and a really cool chase scene with a lot of ‘free running’ (parley) tricks etc. I just really don’t like Daniel Craig as Bond for this movie. I think with a little less blatent killing and someone better looking who doesn’t have a ‘gun complex’ this movie would have been much better.

Over all it was good and I would recommend it to people who like action and a decent plot but don’t expect completely perfect acting.
